aaduna at High Falls - featured artist Christine Green

On July 22, 2012 aaduna presented two readings by poet and writer, Christine Green at Center at High Falls in the Brown's Race Historic District in Rochester, New York.  The 2:30 and 5:30 PM readings were convened in the Art Gallery located on the 2nd floor in the Center, and was part of the opening reception for the art exhibition "Thick and Thin."  Over 600 people participated in the festivities which included a talk and major exhibition of the work by the noted Kodak photographer, Neil Montanus.

Ellen Blalock, Syracuse-based artist, videographer and member of the aaduna Board of Directors and Lisa Brennan, aaduna's visual arts editor attended Ms. Green's reading and participated in the overall event.  Christine read "At the Lab" (poetry,) "Ekphrasis I: Powder Blue" (creative non-fiction,) "Ekphrasis II: Nude Descending a Staircase" (creative non-fiction) and a few other published works to a crowded room at both readings.  Christine engaged the audience in a lively Q&A period after each reading.        


This event was funded in part by Poets & Writers, Inc. with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.  "aaduna at Center at High Falls" is part of a series of programmatic activities sponsored yearly by aaduna, Inc. with funding from the Sovereign Foundation.  This Rochester, NY event was made possible through the gracious suppport and collaborative partnership with the Center at High Falls, High Falls Art Gallery and the generosity and hard work of director/artistic director Sally Wood Winslow.
