aaduna publisher to receive the 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Millennium Award ~ Congratulations Bill !!!!!!

William E. Berry, Jr., known to aaduna contributors, fans and followers simply as “bill berry,” will receive the 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Millennium Award. This honor from the Auburn/Cayuga Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored  People (NAACP) will occur on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Sunset Restaurant in Auburn, NY at a luncheon festivity from noon to 1:30 pm.  Celebrating the 15 th Anniversary of these awards, the branch will honor Bill along with three other recipients, Auburn school superintendent Ms. Constance D. Evelyn, entrepreneur and businessperson Ms. Patrice Henry and community activist and volunteer Mrs. Beth Murphy. aaduna, Inc receives another grant!

Christmas and Kwanzaa came early for aaduna, Inc. the non-profit and 501(c) (3) tax-exempt entity that publishes aaduna .  The Council on Literary Magazines and Presses (known as clmp) in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) offered the New York State Literary Publishers Capacity Fund maximum grant award to as sist aaduna in fundraising costs for 2014.   Interestingly, aaduna Inc.’s grant application did not seek the maximum award.  aaduna received the clmp notification the week before Christmas.  Trisha Low, CLMP Director of Membership and Development stated,  “We are very pleased to be able to offer you this award, to recognize your contribution to the literary arts, and to wish you the very best in your ongoing publishing endeavors.” Understanding the need to create a platform of sustainability, aaduna, Inc. will initiate two , fund- and friend-raising activities this coming spring.  These events will occur in...
