Bobbie Dumas Panek is a revered poet, writer, and an icon in the literary circles of the city of Auburn, Cayuga County, Central New York, and beyond these well-defined geographical regions.

Undoubtedly, we have learned that creativity and talent can never be placed in a holding cell, fenced in, or defined by spatial or artificial boundaries.  Creative expressions and qualities need to grow and be nurtured, and Ms. Panek has consistently expanded and stretched her arena of creative influence.  As a newspaper columnist, writer, poet, and reader of her works, Bobbie continues to position herself to achieve new and higher goals.  More importantly, she brings her readers, fans and supporters along with her.  She understands that the literary journey is one that is community based and audience friendly.

Ms. Panek is consistently busy with writing and reading. She is on Auburn's Seymour Library Board, the National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW), where she serves as poetry editor for the organization’s magazine, and is a book reviewer for NLAPW.  But wait a minute…there is more.

Bobbie chairs the Nominating Committee for NLAPW and is the secretary for our local Central New York (CNY) branch of NLAPW. She belongs to three writers groups, one book club, and finds time to work outside of her home.  Whew!  Oh, did I mention that her work has appeared in aaduna as well as a variety of other publications?!

Ms. Panek will be the featured speaker at “word, revisited” this coming Thursday, June 22nd starting at 6 pm in Theater Mack, Cayuga Museum.

So come out to spend a summer evening embracing Bobbie Dumas Panek as she returns your gesture of graciousness and broadens your intellectual and creative horizons.

Interested folks can sign up for the open mic session at 5:30 pm, which will follow Bobbie’s question and answer period and brief intermission.

Wine, beer, soft drinks, and snacks are available for purchase.

word, revisited” is presented in partnership among the Cayuga Museum, Olive Trees and aaduna.    Admission is $3/person.  And all proceeds (including refreshments) directly and solely benefit the Cayuga Museum.
