“words, revisited” kicks-off Season Two

On Thursday, March 8^th, “words” in all its diverse genres and uses will skip, shimmy, jump,  play, weep and bring joy as the second season of highlighting outstanding poets, writers, musicians and other artists whose talent is centered and powered by writing "words" kicks-off its premier presentation.  

Conceived, hosted and presented exclusively by Cayuga Museum of History and Art in partnership with Olive Trees, and aaduna, “word, revisited" season’s opening featured reader will be Donny Alger. Alger first became interested in poetry while in elementary school under the tutelage of a dedicated teacher, Mrs. Novitsky. As a teenager, he started playing in bands; wrote poetry and lyrics, and never looked back.  With scores of notebooks filled with words, he will bring a wealth of material to share. A supporter and open mic participant since “word, revisited’s” inception, Donny will now command the stage as the featured speaker, and is excited about using a theater platform for presenting his eclectic and compelling work.    

After a successful and highly regarded inaugural 2017 season, the trio of sponsors start a new season of its literary explorations while continuing to provide a viable avenue for established and emerging writers to present, share, collaborate and listen. Since all writers evolve with the opportunity to present their work to a respectful audience, “word, revisited" provides an open mic session following the featured speaker and brief intermission. 

Convened at 6 PM in the Carriage HouseTheater located behind the museum at 203 Genesee Street in Auburn, NY, “word, revisited" is a bimonthly series presented on the 2^nd and 4^th Thursday of each month through June and then
re-emerging in September.

Admission is $3/person and beverage service (beer, wine, soft drinks, bottled water) and snacks are available for purchase.  Sign-up for open mic starts at 5:30PM.

Cayuga Museum of History and Art, Olive Trees, and aaduna take pride in being the only sponsors of an ongoing regional literary event that features a prominent speaker supplemented by open mic in the City of Auburn.
