With an open heart...

aaduna, Seward House Museum, First Friday of the spring season...

bill berry came out of hibernation.

Shawnte Blyss Barr sprung forth to bring her gracefulness with other flowers destined to bloom.

Dick Ford further enhanced his reputation for eloquence as a pianist, musician and educator.

bill ventured forward with new work and prose poetry that represented his years of writing and self-maintaining a non-public stance (except when he is promoting other creatives.)

Blyss was a poetic delight and easily established herself as a voice that needs to be presented and heard more in public settings.

Dick taught the gathered audience a song (with group participation and movement no less;) held a round of singing around the piano with aficionados of “jazz/pop standards,) and in a genial manner provided the aura that made aaduna’s presence at the Museum more special.

Billye Chabot, executive director of SHM and her staff provided the complementary ambiance guiding tours; answering visitors’ questions, and maintaining a welcoming spirit as guests entered the reception area.

With the support of the NYS Council on the Arts, Governor Cuomo, state legislators, and the steadfast Poets & Writers organization, the evening was an artistic success for the community and visitors to enjoy themselves. Seventy guests moved through this First Friday presentation.

aaduna thanks its collaborative partner- Seward House Museum- as well as Blyss and Dick for their creative talents and willingness to share their artistic gifts with others.

bill is ready and can’t wait to re-become a recluse (well, he will definitely read at a community event presenting two choral groups singing civil rights/“freedom songs” at Auburn’s Westminster Church on the afternoon of April 14, and he agreed to close the 3rd season of “word, revisited” on the 2nd Thursday in November.) So, with that said…

bill and his cohorts/colleagues who steadfastly work to present diverse, multicultural gifts of creativity are now back to the task of prepping the spring 2019 issue of aaduna for its mid-late May launch! His public readings are cool…every so often, once in a “blue moon” etc.

Oh, here is a well-kept secret, aaduna is itching to go “print” with very limited editions of contributors’ work. Keep that a secret! Thinking and reality are two different things! And getting toes wet, does NOT mean jumping into the pool! LOL. Did we miss April 1st?

Enjoy your spring!
