When postponement means expect the unexpected
The May event has been postponed
until the fall 2019.
We realize there is so much to commemorate and celebrate as far as
contributions of people of African decent to American and global culture that
we will transition to celebrating in the spirit other pivotal African Diaspora
festivities. We will celebrate the closure of our “In the Spirit of theHarlem Renaissance” and kick-off new adventures exploring other cultural spirits
on Thursday, October 31, 2019.
That’s right Halloween evening!!!
Get ready for a party that will be unforgettable. All manner
of costumes and festive dress is requested.
Come to have fun, aaduna
style.
In an October evening you will experience the Harlem Renaissance, carnivals, jumbee, spirits, art, and as always powerful “words” from poets, writers, and lyricists. Of course, there will be live music. Wine, beer, soft drinks, snacks and maybe a few surprise refreshments will be available for purchase at the Carriage House Theater, Cayuga Museum, Auburn, NY starting at 6 PM. This is the venue for the gala.
Tickets in advance will be $25, and at the door $30 (cash only.)
But to say thank you to past audiences, you can get a $20/person ticket (unlimited
quantity) via check/money order sent to aaduna, 144 Genesee Street, Suite
102-259, Auburn, NY 13021 no later than July 31st (reflective of
USPS postmark.)
We will mail you your tickets after August 8th. As of
August 9th, advance tickets will be available via Pay Pal only.
Now, if you have already experienced an aaduna reading or
fundraising event, you know we have a stellar, friendly, ready to party and
sell-out audience.
The October 31st
event will be a gala party. Expect the unexpected.
You may want to arrange your attendance sooner than later!
