While we are consistent
with supporting creatives and their work, we understand that there are certain
global issues that are central to the viability of a humane world in which we
want creatives to freely flow and thereby, create diverse and compelling
artistic and literary visions.
As the former chair and
current member of Auburn, NY's Harriet Tubman Center for Justice and Peace, as
well as aaduna's publisher, I understand that the creativity that permeates
writers, artists, musician, dancers, etc. are similar to the driving forces
inherent in social justice activists who seek to expand, empower, and embolden
human rights and social justice pathways for all people.
It is within the spirit of
societal change that benefits ALL creatives, we share the following for you to
read; reflect on, and form an individual decision and position that best
represents your ideals and way of thinking:
Clare Grady, resident of Ithaca, a Catholic Worker, and a
member of the Kings Bay Plowshares 7 @KingsBayPlowshares will be sharing her witness to peace at St. Ann's Church, Route 38A In The Hamlet of Owasco, NY on Wednesday, July 24th, from 5:30 to 7 PM, in the Church Hall,
which is naturally cooled even when it is 100oF. You, and all
of your family and friends, and congregations, are most welcome to attend.
Peace,
bill berry, jr.
