Let's take a break....for now.

Conversations have been a big hit since those chats enable you, aaduna's readership and supporters, to have a more in depth sense of our contributors' background and interests.   For this season, we have two more writers to present, Quiana Katamu and Eloísa Pérez-Lozano. After a break this week [to further work on the pending anniversary issue,] we will get back on the "good foot" as James Brown inspired us to do back in the day. So taking the position that presenting unrelated pics will motivate some of you to pick up your camera and shoot, here are a few photos that may inspire you. We say "Take photographs!" Regan serves up a gourmet meal of brain food!

Image
Marc D. Regan   (photo provided) When bill berry sat down to engage Marc D Regan via aaduna's latest conversation , there was a sense of expectancy that something exquisite would happen.   That feeling is best described as venturing into a restaurant that is not so much trendy as innovative, purposeful and straight forward in its intent instead of pandering to the public’s preference for sameness.   bill established the ambiance and set the table.   Marc created and served up an intriguing and diverse array of ideas and comments that was simply, brain food.       Spend a few minutes and energize your intellect.   This Conversation will give you a lot to think about, discuss, and engage you to form your own opinions.    Read the full conversation at www.aaduna.org  *   *   * aaduna - a timeless exploration into words and images - is a globally read, multi-cultural, and diverse o...

Get ready for Bharda...grab a libation, sit back, relax and read.

"Tide Pool," Robert Bharda (Ward) (c) 2016 Alluring, captivating, powerful...a kaleidoscope of intricate colors....complexity resting in simplicity. These words and phrases can define the work of Robert Bharda (Ward.)  Or, we can define his work as just remarkable.      View Robert Bharda’s photography exhibit featured in aaduna’s Penalver Gallery in the summer/fall 2015 issue :  http://aaduna.org/summerfall2015/gallery/penalver-gallery/ However, we define his visual work, to know him, is to listen to his words, and observe the wit that he brings to his photos.   Robert Bharda (Ward) photo provided Robert Bharda (Ward) photo provided Robert Bharda (Ward) photo provided Robert Bharda (Ward) - "Selfie"  Photo Provided Robert took the time to chat with bill berry via aaduna's " Conversations "    ENJOY! http://aaduna.org/summerfall2015/conversations/conversation-with-robert-bha...

Just can't get enough of bill berry!?

I guess we all like it better when bill goes underground and pursues his out of the public eye hibernation.  And yet, he has become somewhat of a "in the moment" media darling, and a willing and active participant we might add, in promoting the BLACKOUT racist memorabilia exhibition at ArtRage in Syracuse, NY.  Now, do you think his availability to the media is because it is his collection or is there a more profound objective such as trying to shift the public's thinking pertaining to matters of race and culture that he is pushing?  You decide.  All we know is that homeboy has another print interview that just came out and we may share that article in another posting...maybe!  Here is the link to a short radio interview and make sure you see the slideshow that is part of the reporter's narrative: http://waer.org/post/artrage-exhibit-features-artifacts-distorted-perceptions-african-americans Now...Lisa Brennan prepared...
