OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS in 2018!!!!!!!!!!
Find your PATHWAY or MULTIPLE PATHS
At aaduna, we are always looking for ways to promote, expand the boundaries, and strengthen the platforms that are available to creative people to expose their work to a wider audience, a larger readership that may be out of one’s current outreach due to locality or region. aaduna is also committed to enabling creative people to read, see, and embrace the work of colleagues whose artistic leanings may be a new discovery.
We will embolden the scope and intent of “aadunanotes,” the official blog spot for aaduna. While aaduna’s thrice yearly-publication schedule will stay the same, the official aaduna blog does not have that limited timeframe.
Here are the planned new year opportunities exclusively for 2018:
Chat Me UP Sundays
brief interview-based chats with aaduna’s publisher,
bill berry, jr.
Starting March 11, 2018

contributing editors, contributors, submitters, readers. followers, and
supporters. Share who you are with the
aaduna community. Get your profile in
the public domain that is keenly interested in the arts and specifically
literature and art. Possible unexpected
opportunities may come your way. And
learn more about who your colleagues are.
Chats are unstructured and quick conversations conducted via
e-mail. It is not time consuming.
Interested in chatting with bill berry? E-mail your full name, contact info and brief
bio (no more than 3 sentences) ASAP to bill@aaduna.org
and put Chat in the Subject box.
Avenues on Wednesday
discovering poetry streets, poetry
roads, poetry
highways, poetry travels
Starting March 7, 2018
While
society likes to pigeon-hole cultural celebrations almost exclusively to
certain months, the approach at aaduna is to permeate diversity,
multi-culturalism, and creative ideas throughout what we do. (Ok, we do sneak in genres on pre-ordained days
and times but we do it longer than a specific month!)
Our plan is to present 2 poems and corresponding brief poet bios (no more than 3 sentences,) and poet photos on Wednesdays throughout 2018. We will present one original poem/poet that has been previously published or never published! No review process. No editing. Your work posted as you intend. Copyright retained by the poet. Commercial use of the poem by aaduna is prohibited. First come-first served. Rolling submissions period guaranteed. Submissions are now open. Share your original poem with our global readership.

publishing credit if previously published, work presented as you want it
posted. Poems will be archived by the
date posted on the blog so it will be available whenever you or others need to
access your work.

on the submitter, poem, bio (no more than 3 sentences,) photo (focused and
clear selfies are OK.) to info@aaduna.org – put Avenues in

scheduled for posting.
Flashback Friday!
Previously…Remembrances from the Past - 2011-2017
Making Fridays a time for Nostalgia and Reflection
Starting April 6, 2018
aaduna’s
first exclusively on-line publication launched in February 2011. And since
then, aaduna has launched 20 issues, published 322 contributors whose creative
work covers poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and visual arts. And with that legacy
to date, aaduna is now read in 104 countries.
With that said, please recognize aaduna does not publish testimonials though
we have overflowing bags full of praise. aaduna does not flaunt its ability to
reach a diverse, multicultural audience. aaduna does flaunt its support for
emerging artists, people of color, and a pluralistic non-traditional and
traditional intergenerational rainbow of creative people, who are crystals of
light for our readership.
Simply, we do not proclaim any greatness in what we
do or how we do it. We do not blow our
golden trumpets or cast enchanting siren calls of our literary importance. We are contributor/submitter centered and try
to exhibit and permeate that characteristic in all that we do including our
periodic public readings and annual fundraiser.
So, in order to continue to
promote our creative community, aaduna’s publisher and visual arts editor will
select work from the archives to present throughout the year on the day that
kicks-off the weekend. A day where we
can expect the unexpected.
Previously…on Fridays…from our past. Flashback Friday!!!!!!
Storytellers on Mondays!
excerpts from the diverse imagination of fiction,
non-fiction and flash fiction writers
Starting June 11, 2018
(taking a pause from the madness of the weekend)
Let’s
admit it. Most people love watching trailers of coming movies to be shown at
our local theater. Those coming attractions catch our attention whether it is
for a new movie or some retrospective film screening. These trailers are
excerpts, snippets, bits ‘n’ pieces to incite our imagination.
This
storytelling series will do the same. Writers across thematic genres are
invited to submit a compelling paragraph from a published or unpublished
fiction or creative non-fiction work that will excite the reader’s imagination
and provide a link or access to the full work.
Flash fiction can be presented
in its entirety. No review. No editing.
Copyright remains with the writer. Commercial use or use for any other purpose (except
for promotion or marketing) is prohibited on aaduna’s part. For more small print details, please refer above
to “Avenues on Wednesday.” Writers submit your selected excerpt, full contact
info, brief bio and photo ASAP to info@aaduna.org and put
“Storytellers in the Subject box.
On Exhibit…
The Enticing & Fascinating World of
Visual Art
a Thursday series presenting 1 or more visual images
to excite and embolden the imagination
Starting September 2018
Maybe
it is a false assumption though I do not think so. People are drawn to museums, art galleries,
exhibitions because the world of art is ever-changing, provocative, compelling,
and intriguing to the human eye.
Our
senses are captivated as we ponder what happens when paint is put to
canvas. Pen to paper. The eye through lens. Hands to plaster, metals, fibers or found
objects. We seek all visual artists who
want to share their creativity (1-5 pieces) previously published or
unpublished work with our readership.
We seek to promote one artist each Thursday with her/his work (jpeg
files, HiRes,) brief bio, and photo.
Submissions should be sent to info@aaduna.org ASAP with On
Exhibit in the Subject box. Submitter’s
contact data, the work to be exhibited, brief bio, photo, and publication citations
for previously published work are required.
No review. First come, first served. Copyright retained by the artist. Commercial use of any image is prohibited on
aaduna’s part and no other artist rights are transferred to aaduna except the
right to post and promote the images.
