CATS!!!

aaduna visual arts editor, Lisa Brennan won the Grand Prize in the 2013 Cat Photo Contest sponsored by the Auburn Public Theater (APT) in Auburn, NY.  With 120 entries, Lisa captured the elegance, simplicity and grandeur of Cleopatra enjoying nature at home.  Cleo is one of two Sphynx cats (her brother, Cairo is the other one) who resides in the Brennan/Berry household.      Lisa Brennan, aaduna Visual Arts Editor As Grand Prize winner, Lisa received two tickets to see "CATS,"Andrew Lloyd Webber's long-running Broadway masterpiece, based on T.S. Eliot's "Old Possum Book of Practical Cats," which will play at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse between August 21- September 11.  She also received cat toys, catnip, notecards that show the winning entries, and cat stickers.  The Notecards and a calendar featuring winning photos are available for sale since APT is raising ...

aaduna's return to Hudson County Community College

Moving past the fall 2012 semester's postponement caused by last year's Hurricane Sandy, aaduna returned to HCCC's Journal Square Campus to present  Creativity and the Written Word  featuring poetry readings by Cyd Charisse Fulton, Olivia Magdelene, D.D. and Tara Thierry on the afternoon of March 20, 2013.  Each poet read scheduled pieces and then shared additional work in a open reading format.  Afterwards, the poets responded to questions from the HCCC students, faculty and staff. Prior to this event, Ms. Fulton premiered original poems at the Centennial Celebration of the Passing of Harriet Tubman in Auburn, NY on March 10. aaduna and HCCC, a Celebration of the Written Word!

During the spring semester last year, aaduna enjoyed a very successful visit to Hudson County Community College in Jersey City , NJ .    The College invited aaduna back for the College's fall 2012 semester, and then disaster hit. Hurricane Sandy affected the campus and prompted its closure for a few days since Jersey City had to deal with lost electrical power and other issues. With perseverance and focused attention, that community dealt with the storm's impact, and rebounded! aaduna is pleased to return to HCCC on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 !!! We will present four contributing aaduna poets/writers who will read a selection of their work at 3 PM on March 20.     The contributors are: Cyd Charisse Fulton   Olivia Magdelene, D.D. Tubman's Centennial Rocked!!!

This past weekend [March 8-10] celebrated the 100th year anniversary of the passing of Harriet Tubman.
